David Hayward lives on the beautiful Kennebacasis River in Quispamsis, near Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, with his wife Lisa and three children. He is inspired by the wild and rugged geography of his northern east-coast surroundings. He has been seriously influenced by Japanese artistic expressions. His style tends towards minimalism and limited palettes. It has been called minimal, minimalist realism, and contemplative. They evoke a sense of space and emotional power as he explores the spirituality of place through his created visions.
He mostly works in watercolors on paper. He also works with oils and acrylics. Lately, he has transfered his visions to stone, enjoying the complexity and beauty of Brazilian soapstone.
Locally, Jorgen Klausen of Klausen’s Framing and Fine Art Gallery in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, represents David Hayward’s art. You can find many more of his works there, already framed and ready to go.
