These are always fun for me to do because I use tons of paint and ink and I never really know how it’s going to turn out. They usually do. I did the moon by scraping away the paint. Same with the stars.

I painted this on my iPhone using the “Brushes” app, and using a Pogo stylus. Did it while on my river when the sun was setting and the moon was rising, beside a small fire with Lisa.

watercolor “misty river”

This is a watercolor I did of a scene outside my front window of the Kennebacasis River on a bright morning as the fog was burning off the river. What a sight! It measures 7″x13.5″ (18cm x 35cm), and is painted on quality Arches paper. It is available HERE and HERE.

new iPhone Brushes painting: Crow Calling

The iTunes “Brushes” app for iPhone just gets more and more interesting. I’ve ordered a Pogo stylus because my fingers are so big. Hopefully it will help me get more detail. Still experimenting and learning.

I worked long and hard on this one. It measures 7″x9″ (18cm x 23cm). I carved the image into a block of maple… very hard wood, but I always get a reliable result. I haven’t found a quality plywood yet that won’t chip away. I found a beautiful handmade Japanese paper called Goyu. It works [...]
